About the Festival

The Princeton Children’s Book Festival is a town tradition held outside at the Princeton Public Library and the Albert E. Hinds Memorial Plaza. This autumn event promises something for everyone. You may meet your favorite author or illustrator, listen to them discuss their work, have a book autographed, or just have the opportunity to talk to them about their inspiration.

The mission of the Princeton Children’s Book Festival (and Book Jam too) is to encourage reading and ignite a life-long love of books. We strive to bring a diverse and inclusive range of voices to the festival and to strengthen the connection for children between the stories on the page and the people who create them.

jaZams, our local independent bookseller, will handle book sales for the event. A portion of sales will be donated to the Princeton Public Library.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: PLEASE READ!

We will be following current guidelines regarding Covid-19. These include local regulations, regulations of the book festival and restaurant, and SCBWI’s “U.S Policy for Minimizing Covid Risk during SCBWI Region Events” (posted below in accordance with SCBWI policy). Guidelines and policies are subject to change. Any changes to the following guidelines will be communicated to all participants as they arise.

All attendees are required to remain masked and as socially-distanced as possible when indoors at the restaurant.

Anyone who is sick or has symptoms should not attend.

SCBWI is not responsible for health outcomes.

U.S. Policy for Minimizing Covid Risk during SCBWI Region Events

To minimize the risk of Covid-19 at all SCBWI in-person events with more than 25** attendees, event organizers are required to implement the following attendance policy:

Require attendees to submit proof of vaccination, or proof of a negative PCR test taken no earlier than three days prior to the event, as a condition of attendance.

At any SCBWI in-person event, regardless of the number of attendees, organizers must offer each attendee a free disposable mask, provide hand sanitizing stations throughout the event area, and post this policy in its entirety in areas visible to attendees.

Comments regarding this policy should be directed to SCBWI headquarters by emailing covidpolicy@scbwi.org. Include your name and contact information in order to receive a response.

**As we are limiting registration to 15 attendees, we will not require proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test for this event.

By registering for this event, you agree to accept and adhere to these Covid policies.
